This page is a reference for the peripherals supported or recommended for use with Moto Agent. Moto Agent does not sell, resell, supply or fulfill this hardware. You can buy it from any reputable hardware vendor that carries the exact compatible model.

The iPad is our certified and demo tested pick for the counter, and it is what we run Moto Agent on every day. Android tablets also work, and because Moto Agent runs entirely in the browser, any computer with a modern browser can run the register, the repair bench and the back office. Pick whichever devices fit your budget.
Apple iPad (10th gen or newer), 10.9 inch, with a Heckler WindFall or Compulocks locking counter stand
The register itself. Moto Agent runs in the browser on the tablet, so no computer is needed at the counter. Android tablets and any computer with a modern browser also work; the iPad is our certified pick.

Epson TM-m30III
AirPrint certified, so it prints straight from the iPad over your network. This is also the device that pops the cash drawer, so the drawer plugs into the printer.

APG Vasario 1616 (value) or Star CD3-1616 (heavy duty steel)
Any drawer with an RJ11 or RJ12 kick port works. It connects to the receipt printer with a cable that looks like a phone cord.

Socket Mobile S720 Bluetooth, or a Netum 2D Bluetooth scanner for a lean opening
The S720 is the pocket sized scanner shown here, and it is the one we use for the demo. Set it to keyboard, or HID, mode. Speeds up checkout, stock counts and receiving purchase orders.

Pairs to the register for tap, chip and swipe. Card payments are processed through the payment account connected in Moto Agent.

DYMO LabelWriter 5XL
Prints shelf labels, used device tags and 4 x 6 shipping labels from one machine. It plugs into a Mac or PC on the counter rather than printing over AirPrint; the repair bench laptop works fine for that.

Runs the repair bench: intake, photos, signatures, parts and status updates. A laptop here can also be the machine the DYMO printer plugs into.

A second iPad or Android tablet on a swivel counter mount
Shows the cart, the total, tips and your promotions while you ring up, and collects the customer signature. No extra signature pad needed.

AirPrint only works when the iPad and the printers sit on the same network, so keep registers and printers off the guest Wi-Fi and run a wired cable to each printer.

Every printer should say AirPrint on the box, with one exception: the DYMO 5XL label printer works through the Mac or PC it is plugged into.
The iPad is our certified pick, but Android tablets and any computer with a modern browser also run Moto Agent. Printers still need AirPrint.
Printers and registers belong on the same network as the iPad. Keep them off the guest Wi-Fi.
The tablet cannot talk to USB or serial hardware. The receipt printer opens the cash drawer, so the drawer plugs into the printer.
Barcode scanners must be in keyboard, or HID, mode. Most ship that way already.
Label printing, shipping labels and extra registers beyond the first at a location are Growth plan features.
Buy one spare receipt printer for a multi counter store. It is the single part that stops checkout when it fails.
